In yet another shocking incident from State of Maharashtra related to violations of child rights over fee hike of private schools, taking the serious note of discrepancies between the two orders of The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) the the women and child development ministry has not only blamed the child rights panel for causing the educational loss to the children, but also has issued direction to The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) to take further action.
Explaining this issue the parent from a Mumbai based School Mr.Rameshwar Dakhorkar said ‘I had cleared all the dues of the school management before the education department observed that the school management has committed irregularities for fee fixation. However I stopped paying the fees for indifference of the the school management as well as the education department as both turned deaf ear to already proved illegal fees. Thereafter the school management expelled my children from the school for non payment of excessive fees’.
‘Finally I filed complaint before The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) who directed to readmit my children after I pay the fees under protest. I immediately paid Rs.91000/- ‘under protest’ to the school management which accepted the fees, however refused to readmit my children, i felt shattered and cheated.’
Discrepancies in the orders of child rights panel-
Thereafter i rushed to The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR). However instead of taking strict action against the school management for disobeying their directions, the child rights commission instead directed me to take the admission in some other school, I felt completely cheated with such order.’
Women and child development ministry finds the child rights commission guilty and directs to take appropriate action-
Thereafter I filed complaint against the The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) to the the Ministry of Women & Child Development which took immediate cognizance and found the truth in my complaint & mentioned that the because of the discrepancies of the the child rights commission 2 orders, my children have suffered and educational loss, I will be taking the appropriate legal actions as my children have not got admission in any school till date’, added Mr.Dakhorkar.
The copy of the order of the Ministry of Women and Child Development as provided by Mr Rameshwar Dakhorkar is as follows-
Notice to take criminal action issued-
After the intervention of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, The education department has served the notice upon school management to immediately readmit the children of Mr.Rameshwar Dakhorkar or has been warned of strictest action including the criminal prosecution.
